Portage, Michigan Died Sunday evening August 17, 2008. Winifred was born August 20, 1912 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Frank and Jennie Stell Stears. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1960, coming from Three Rivers. She was a member of the St. Michael Lutheran Church and the Kalamazoo Newcomers Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Brouwer on April 22, 1977; and her son, John F. Brouwer on September 10, 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Martha Stanley Eaton of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Bruce Paige Eaton of Scotts, Jacqueline Eaton of Kalamazoo, Linda Michael Anson of Gobles, and Robert Nicole Eaton of Portage; 6 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held 10 o'clock Thursday in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers, MI. Visitation will be 6-7pm Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E.
