Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Friday morning October 24, 2008. Wilma was born February 29, 1928 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Ties and Tillie Dykehouse Oosterhouse. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Otsego Public School System for 17 years, retiring in 1990. She was also a member of Immanuel Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Veld on October 16, 1995; a sister, Anna Penny; and a brother, Harm Oosterhouse. She is survived by 2 sons, Bradley Charmaine Veld of Vancouver, WA, and Brent Veld of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, Geoffrey and Michael Veld; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private graveside services will be held in West Cooper Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Diabetes Association.
