SPERRY, Wilma N. Howison
Of Augusta After a courageous fight against cancer, Wilma went to live with her Lord on Friday, May 25, 2007. She was born in Midland, MI the daughter of William and Nada Lee Avery on August 7, 1924. Wilma was a graduate of the Midland High School in 1940 and was a lifelong member of the Midland Free Methodist Church. She currently attended the First Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo. Wilma was a former 4-H leader, teaching knitting to beginners. She was still actively knitting hats and volunteering to make cupcakes for the children at the Edison School on a regular basis. Wilma also enjoyed traveling, Lake Michigan, lighthouses, and especially spending time with her family. Her union with Nathan Howison created five children who survive her, Sheryl David Gehrls of Omaha, NE, Marilyn Dale Howard of Perry, MI, Patty Michael Cox of St. Louis, MI, Mark Katie Howison of Midland, MI, Barbara Kevin Edie of Hillsboro, OR. With her marriage to Chet on August 10, 1988 she inherited three daughters who survive, Juanita Dick Kohfeldt of Battle Creek, MI, Pat Smith of Augusta, Sarah Jerry Davis of Springfield, MO; also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Gene Tyler of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 o?clock Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Rev. Kevin Holley of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm and from 1-2 on Thursday prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
