of Kalamazoo Died May 19, 2013. Bill was born May 20, 1919 in Wallingford, CT to the late Charles and Sophie Wanat Tomko. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps serving during World War II. On June 14, 1947, Bill married Joan Peiser, who preceded him in death on March 31, 2008. Surviving are his children, Pete Tomko of Irvine , CA , Steve Linda Tomko of Culver City, CA and Dave Marcia Tomko of Richland, MI; 1 grandson; Matt Tomko; brother, Edward Tomko; and many nieces and nephews. More recently he enjoyed volunteering through Communities in Schools of Kalamazoo and at the Air Zoo of Kalamazoo. The family will be hosting an open house luncheon reception, Friday May 24th from 11:30 to 1:30 at the Fountains, 1700 Bronson Way, Kalamazoo. Please come and celebrate Bill's life.
