TEMPLETON, William T. "Bill" of Kalamazoo, Michigan Bill passed away March 20, 2013, at his home with his family at his bedside. He was born October 12, 1935, in LaGrange, Illinois, the son of the late William and Lucille Taggart Templeton. Bill is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he was active in the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He worked for nearly 30 years for the First of America Bank Corporation, and retired as a Vice President and department head of the Real Estate section of the Trust Division of the former First of America Bank-Michigan. Over the years, Bill was active in a variety of community organizations, and served as president of the Downtown Kalamazoo Association. He was also an avid and accomplished golfer, playing several times in the Kalamazoo Country Club Invitational and winning a club championship at the Elks. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Turney Templeton, whom he married on December 22, 1956; a son, William; a daughter, Martha Steve McMurry four grandchildren: Emily and Mindy Dunn and Logan and Haley Templeton, two step-grandchildren, Graham and Sheila McMurry and a step great-grandson, Jaylen Jno-Pierre. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth. Private family services will be held and there will be no visitation.
