STERNAMAN, Mr. William G. "Pete"
Kalamazoo, MI Died Tuesday evening June 2, 2009. Pete was born February 1, 1941 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Frank and Virginia Slater Sternaman. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with General Motors for 33 years before retiring. Upon retirement, he worked at Walt Disney World in Florida during the winter months for several years. He was also a member of the Cereal City Campers and enjoyed fishing and classic cars. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judith M. Sternaman on June 24, 2007; and 2 sisters, Marjorie Sternaman and Virginia Hardin. He is survived by 3 children, Lori Robert Wheelright of Kalamazoo, William Roxanne Sternaman, Jr. of Oak Creek, WI, and Karin Sternaman of Orlando, FL; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Lorin, Doug, and Kari; a great-granddaughter; Rayne; 3 sisters, Rosalie Scott of New Port Richie, FL, Geraldene Patton of Kalamazoo, and Lee Dennis Cousins of Poinciana, FL; a niece, Nickey Bronson; and several other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 o'clock Friday, June 12th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Program or the U of M Comprehensive Cancer Center. All funds will be allocated to pancreatic research.
