Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away on September 8, 2008. Bill was born July 25, 1917 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Casper and Anna Mae Jordon Myers and was a lifelong Kalamazoo resident. Bill was a machinist for several years until his retirement in 1958 and was an avid square dancer. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna in 1988 and by a son-in-law Gary Rickstad, a grandson Jimmy Joe Rickstad, by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are 4 daughters Jacqueline Rickstad of Comstock, Patricia Leo Moyer of Portage, Phyllis Myers of Kalamazoo, Barbara Scot Slater of Three Rivers and Kris Jon Blackburn of Kalamazoo, who was like a daughter to Bill; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marjorie Stevens of Parchment and Norma Dekker of Three Rivers, a sister-in-law Bea Myers of Arizona; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 o'clock on Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with the Rev. James Dyke officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Comstock High School Athletic Department in memory of his best friend Gary Rickstad.
