Portage Passed away March 14, 2011. Bill was born July 14, 1946 in Kalamazoo, a son of Cornelius and Edna Marks. He was a lifelong resident of Portage and was a self employed builder. He served in the Unites States Army during the Viet Nam War. He loved fishing and racing. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Thomas Marks and Max Mills. He is survived by his sister, Judy John Bosma of Portage; two brothers, Jack Diane Marks of Vicksburg and Wayne of Portage; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Mills of Vicksburg and Esther Marks of Caledonia; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Emma. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with Rev James Dyke officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 PM. A private family committal will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be given to the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, using the following funds and their numbers: Homeless Stand Downs, #1020 or Operation Enduring Freedom, #1041.
