William L. Hopkins

HOPKINS, William L. Portage Mr. Hopkins passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 27, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born February 5, 1931 in Kalamazoo, one of five children to the late William J. and Lillian Matthews Hopkins. Bill was employed by Allied Chemical for 33 years until his retirement. On October 13, 1949, he was united in marriage to Arlene Weber, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Bonnie Hopkins of Kalamazoo, William T. Cindy Hopkins of Scottsville, and Kenneth Diane Hopkins of Portage; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Darlene Hopkins of Kalamazoo; one sister, Donna Bud Coffman of Bridgeport, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; one brother, Leonard Hopkins; and one sister, Betty Dingman. Memorial services for Mr. Hopkins will be at 3:00 PM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of services. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one?s choice.
