William B. Friend, Sr

FRIEND, William B., Sr. Galesburg Passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2007. He was born March 6, 1925 in Kalamazoo, the son of Lynn George and Josephine Veenhuis Friend and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Bill served his country in the Unites States Army Infantry during WW II. He then worked for Kalamazoo Creamery for 43 years, retiring in 1989. On August 22, 1962, he married the former Mildred Peterson, who preceded him in death on October 30, 2001. He was also preceded by a daughter, Susan, and a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jim Moreland. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Friend Richard; two sons, Mark Friend and William Friend, Jr. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no service or visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
