FEUTZ, William Arnold Bill
Of Portage Bill, age 66, went with the assurance of resurrection to meet his Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Margaret Meg; adoring daughters, Carolyn Jerry Brownell, Karen Mick McCanlies, Kelli Jason Luke, and Catherine Feutz; and his precious grandchildren, Madison, Paige and Ryan Mizikar, and Payton, Ella, Eli, and baby Luke. Bill will be sincerely missed by his family. He was the consummate big brother to siblings, Joseph Sue, Jerilyn Binder, G. Michael Candy, and Patrick Jodi Feutz; and by his extended family through his beloved "Maggie", brothers-in-law, Ken Mary, Jerry Rosemary, Richard Diane, and Patrick Mankel; and many nieces and nephews; as well as lifetime friends Ron Kathy Edington and their children. Born in Grand Rapids to Gerald and Roanne Feutz on May 4, 1941, Bill graduated from Catholic Central High School and attended Aquinas College. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, and was a dedicated employee of the General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Kalamazoo for 30 years. Outdoors activities were a big part of Bill's life. He enjoyed many years of coaching his daughters in softball and soccer and was an intense competitor in golf, softball, and any other sport. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter, and Detroit Tiger fan. Bill's love for his family, friendliness towards everyone, sense of humor, unflagging optimism, steadfastness, and passion for life will long be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him. Family and friends may pay their respects at a visitation on Monday, March 24, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St. at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 25th with Rev. Msgr. Michael Hazard, celebrant.
