CUTTING, William A.
Paw Paw William A. Cutting was born July 15, 1924 in Paw Paw, MI, the son of Esther and Bernard Cutting. He died on June 19, 2012 in his home with his children with him. On January 7, 1945, while serving as a navigator in the Army Air Corps, he married his high school sweetheart, Arlene Scott. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary shortly before her death in January of 2005. He graduated from MSU with a degree in business. He became a CPA, working for a number of local companies before establishing his own accounting firm in Paw Paw. A few years later his son, Bruce, joined him to establish Cutting & Cutting PC at which Dad continued to work until his death. Bill was an avid golfer, and had his first hole-in-one on May 3, just 6 weeks before his death. He was proud and delighted with this accomplishment, and all of his family and friends celebrated with him. He was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw and the Paw Paw Fire Department. He was also a member of the Paw Paw School Board, serving as President for many years. He was always up for a card game, a movie or concert, but more than anything else, he cherished his time with his family. He is survived by his four children: Paul Judy of Kalamazoo, Bruce Judy of Paw Paw, Susan of Eaton Rapids and Scott of Muskegon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tim, Chris, Andrew Natalie, Elise Paul, Matt and Jill. In the last year of his life, he delighted in the company of his dear and wonderful friend, Mary Adams. Her presence was a beautiful blessing for him, and for us, especially in the last days of his life. Our Dad was a man of character, honesty and infinite goodness. We will miss him and love him always. There will be a Memorial Gathering of friends and family on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. from 3-8 PM. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 120 Pine St., Paw Paw, MI.
