Bill Vanden Broek, 84, went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI to the late Albert and Dena (Dykema) Vanden Broek. Bill spent his youth being mischievous throughout Kalamazoo. He graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School in 1957 and later Western Michigan University. He began his career with the Upjohn Company in 1959. Bill retired in 1999 after years of being the aircraft scheduler, a job he greatly enjoyed. He was united in marriage to his bride, “Loverly” on December 13, 1963. He enjoyed time spent with his family, traveling, and summers in South Haven. Bill took his love of singing throughout his whole life. First in the choir at Third Christian Reformed Church, where he was a lifelong member, to spending many years traveling with the Singing Crusaders Male Chorus. Bill will forever be remembered for his “willy-isms”, his beautiful smile and big hugs.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Beverly (Bogema) Vanden Broek; his children, Beth (Keith) Myers, Dean (Joelle) Vanden Broek, Amy (Bob) Williams; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 am at Third Christian Reformed Church 2400 Winchell Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 with a luncheon immediately following at the church. The family will receive guests at the church beginning at 10:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 622 S Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
