Climax, MI Passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at his home. He was born December 24, 1917 in Detroit , MI a son of Henry and Emma Giertz Naas. He was employed by Ford Motor Company as a draftsman for over 25 years and had moved to the Climax area in 2000. Willard gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 37, and from then on lived to serve him in everything he did. He served as a Sunday School teacher, a leader of the Boy's Brigade Club, and many times preached in the homeless shelter. He loved giving to missions causes, and had a special gift of serving others with his time. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church of Urbandale. Willard enjoyed working with his hands, and always had a running "to do" list. On November 21, 1942 he married Dorothy V. Metsger, who preceded him in death on October 18, 1994. He was also preceded by his parents; a sister, Marie; and 5 brothers, Earl, Norman, Harold, Tom and Fred. His survivors include his daughters, Nancy Jim Hoskison of Kettering, OH and Nina Pearce of Climax, MI ; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple St. on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 Noon in the Covenant Community Church, 25800 Student, Redford, MI with Pastor Ron Kenney officiating. A visitation at the church will begin at 11:00AM, before the service. Interment will take place in Glen Eden Lutheran Cemetery.
