Willard C. Greynolds

GREYNOLDS, Willard C. ?Bill? Of Portage Passed away Tuesday evening, July 31, 2007. Bill was born December 22, 1919 in Bristol, West Virginia the son of Marion and Iva Freeman Greynolds. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1980 he was employed for 36 years with the James River Paper Company. Bill was a member of the Paw Paw VFW Post and enjoyed antiques, antique auctions, mechanics, whittling, and especially spending time with his family. Bill was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Lester, Wilson, Raymond, and James; and a sister, Lucille. On January 24, 1946 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Evalyn Barkalow, who survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Larry Sharon Greynolds, Cathy David Block; 4 grandchildren, David and Brad Block, Darcy and Tara Greynolds; 6 great-grandchildren, Joseph, Angelisa, Skyler, Spencer, Sheena, and Isabelle; 2 sisters, Hazel Yeager, Ethel Perrine; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 12:30 o?clock Friday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre with Pastor Dennis Goodrich officiating. Friends may meet the family from 11:30-12:30 at the chapel. Interment will be Ft. Custer National Cemetery Friday at 2:00. Memorials may be directed to the Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services or the Borgess N.H.
