Cook, Willagene K. Passed away May 12, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born November 9, 1924 in Waterloo, IN to the late L.J. and Marie Healy Bender. She married the love of her life, William Cook, on February 24, 1942. They shared that love for 45 years and raised 5 children. She lost her love on August 16, 1986. She worked for 35 years at Shakespeare's until she retired in 1986. She loved to gamble, fish, go camping and have breakfast at Julianna's with her round table friends. Playing keno and spending time with her family was a joy to her. She loved many and was loved by all. Surviving Willagene are her children, Carol William Folk of Comstock, Mary Dutch Slager of Scotts and John Cheryl Cook of Scotts; she had 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brothers, William Barbara Bender, Eugene Laverne Bender and Jerry Joyce Bender; several nieces, nephews and friends; and her dog, her loyal companion, Daisy Duke. Also preceding Willagene in death were sons, William Cook, Jr. and Albert Cook; brother, Raymond Bender; and sisters, Imogene Methney and Betty Squires. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Hwy., where services will take place on Thursday at 11:00. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials in Willagene's name may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
