Wilburn Ratliff

Kalamazoo On Friday, February 13, 2009, Wilburn went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born December 14, 1939 in Decatur, AL the son of Toney and Katie Washburn Ratliff and had been a resident of the Kalamazoo area for many years, where he had worked for Kalamazoo Manufacturing and HECO. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was always eager to learn more about the Bible. Wilburn loved classic cars, Elvis and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved to travel and had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Dave Harrison. Wilburn is survived by his wife, Judith Gram Ratliff; his children, Ruth Mike Pohlman of Kalamazoo and Timothy Sonya Ratliff of Portage; three grandchildren, Jordan Pohlman, Nolan Ratliff and Chase Pohlman; his mother, Katie Ratliff of Kalamazoo; three brothers, James Doris Ratliff of Decatur, AL, Wayne Ratliff of Kalamazoo and John Janice Ratliff of Portage; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday in the Bethel Baptist Church, 402 S. Westnedge with Pastor Dana Arledge officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorials may be given to Bethel Baptist Church, the West Michigan Cancer Center or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
