THRASHER, WENDELL Jay

Wendell Jay passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at his home. He was born on August 24, 1949 in Kalamazoo, the son of Wendell and Barbara (Reynolds) Thrasher. Wendell was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam Conflict. Surviving are two sons, Marc Morse of Kalamazoo, David (Rachel) Roberts of Kalamazoo; step-daughter, Linda (Charlie) Schafer; two grandchildren, Madison Morse, Courtney Nicole Roberts; father, Wendell Thrasher of Moulton, AL; six sisters, Barbara (Max) Miller of Allegan, Ramona Bell of Kalamazoo, Anita Bell of Kalamazoo; Gina (Tony) Hunt of Mississippi, Marsha Thrasher-Ferris of Moulton, AL and Paula Ann Bradford of Moulton, AL; brother, Tommy Bell of Kalamazoo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his son, Shawn Morse; longtime fiancé, Clovis Lamb and mother, Barbara Bell. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 26, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, where friends may visit with his family from 10am until the time of services. Interment with military honors will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Disabled American Veterans.
