Of Galesburg, Michigan Passed away Friday morning, January 23, 2009 at Pipp Hospital in Plainwell. Wendell was born February 25, 1930, in Rockford, Michigan, the son of Roy and Edna Wilson Clark. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and graduated from Western Michigan University. He was a resident of Indian Lake's Highview Shores for 30 years and a Galesburg resident the past 12 years. For many years he was a real estate appraiser for the State of Michigan and following retirement he continued as a real estate broker doing contract work for the state. Wendell was an avid golfer, bowler, pool player, gambler and football fan. He was also a founding member of the Lakeshore Travel Club. On December 29, 1956, he was married to the former Phyllis Punches Snyder who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kristine Ned Thompson of Galesburg and Tracy David Stevens of Oshtemo; ten grandchildren, R.T. Baden, Wendi Baden-Stevens, Kacy Baden, Clark Thompson, Ali Thompson, Bobby Thompson, Melody Stevens, Monica Stevens, Jonathan Stevens and Joshua Stevens; two sisters, Opal Sutliffe and Gracia Tower. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Claude Clark. In accordance with Wendell's wishes cremation has taken place. An open house to celebrate Wendell's life will be held from 2:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Niko's Landing 5822 King Highway. A private burial with full military honors will take place at a later date in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W.
