DEDOES, Wayne A.
Kalamazoo On Friday, January 18, 2013, Wayne went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wayne was born January 29, 1935 in Kalamazoo, a son of the late Abram and Wilhelmina DeRuyscher DeDoes and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a self-employed home builder and had served as the President of the Home Builders Association. After retiring from building, he worked for Meijer's in maintenance for 20 years. Wayne was a man with a strong Christian faith, who faithfully raised his family to love and follow God. He was a strong supporter of the Kalamazoo Christian Schools and faithfully attended his children's and then his grandchildren's activities until he was no longer able. On March 25, 1955, he married Virginia Visscher, who survives. Their children are Tom Nancy DeDoes, Timothy DeDoes deceased, Cheryl DeDoes, Connie Todd Pease, Curt Mary DeDoes and Cristi DeDoes; grandchildren, Kaylyn Mike, Cassandra, Tyler, Alex, Rachel, Jacob, Andrew and Isabella; great-grandchildren, Emmett and Landon; a sister, Muriel Neil Spitters; in-laws, Garilyn Duane Bogard, Norene Paul VanderKlok and Paul Dini Visscher; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Third Christian Reformed Church, 2400 Winchell Ave., with his son, Rev. Tom DeDoes, officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery, South. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Kalamazoo Christian School Association or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
