BLANCHARD, Mr. Warren P.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Wednesday morning April 22, 2009 at the V.A. Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. Warren was born August 26, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Robert and Mae Gammon Blanchard. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army Rangers in the Pacific Theater. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1970 and owned and operated Blanchard and Associates years ago. He later worked at G&P Advertising until last year. Warren was also a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Markus; and a sister, Dorothy Barlow. On June 5, 1970, he was united in marriage to Dolores "Lori" A. Korstange Blanchard who survives. Also surviving, 6 children, Sue Blanchard of Jackson, MI, Sandra Don Stacy of Leslie, MI, Scott Blanchard of Jackson, MI, Maryann Dan Bowman of Clarksville, TN, Christine Terry LeRoy of Kalamazoo, and Robert Lynda Markus of Comstock; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert and Richard Blanchard both of Chicago, IL; his mother-in-law, Mary L. Korstange of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Orin Armintrout. Graveside services will be held 1 o'clock Thursday, April 30th in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery with military honors. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the V.A. Medical Center in Battle Creek.
