LOMBARD, Wanda B.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Wanda was born July 29, 1924, in DeKoven, Kentucky, the daughter of Percy Franklin and Martha Jane Keen Ames and passed away at home with her family surrounding her on March 1, 2012, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was a longtime Kalamazoo area resident. Wanda was famous for her baking, making fudge and candy and throughout her life loved caring for her family and especially children. On February 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Douglas B. Lombard, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; ten siblings, Ruby, Gloria, Emma, Jane, Stanley, Wendell, Kenneth, Kay, Carol and Oaks "Suz" and a son-in-law, Paul Bauer. Surviving are her children, Pam Bauer of Paw Paw and Kerry Lombard Cary Belcher of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Diana Joe Poulsen, Emily Ortiz and Paul Bauer; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Loomis, Carmen Barrera, David Barrera, Hailey Poulsen; siblings, Ginny Barzilla, Velda Templeton and Percy "Pooch" Ames; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 5th from 5-7pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where a service to celebrate Wanda's life will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Mattawan Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials in Wanda's memory may be directed to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or Alzheimer's Association.
