POSTAWA, Walter J., Jr.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday evening, July 27, 2010. Walter was born May 9, 1927 in Chicago, IL the son of Walter Sr. and Bernice Swieca Postawa. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement Walter worked for several trucking companies which included Roadway, Lake Motor Express, and Dick Brader. After retirement he delivered flowers for Schuring Greenhouse and molds for Accu-Mold. On September 30, 1949 he was united in marriage to the former Anna Smith who preceded him in death on May 14, 2004. He was also preceded in death by 2 sons, an infant son Terry; and Ronald Postawa. Surviving are 3 children, Jacquelyn Roger Paddock, Walter J. Postawa III, Gerald Heidi Postawa; 11 grandchildren, Jeni, Robin, Lisa, Stacy, Michael, Michelle, Shawn, Jason, Jamie, Danny, Shane; 7 great-grandchildren, Clayton, Amira, Jaelyn, Naomi, Neveah, Liam, and Kaila; daughter-in-law, Sandra Postawa; 3 sisters; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday from 3-6pm at 55475 Giddings Ct. in Mattawan. An Open House, in honor of Walter, will be held Saturday, August 14, at the Bronson Nursing and Rehabilitation, 99 Walker St., in Lawton, at 2:30.
