WHITAKER, Vivian L.
Of Kalamazoo, Michigan Vivian L. Kaufman Boulrece Whitaker died Saturday January 24, 2009 at her residence in Kalamazoo. She was 78, a native of Plaquemine, Louisiana. Vivian worked in the medical field for many years until her retirement giving joy, peace and a tender hand to those she touched. She was a long standing member of Christian Life Center; she also attended and was a member of First United Church where she served on the usher board for many years. Vivian's passion was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved and cared for her family unconditionally. "To know her was to love her." Survived by her husband, Earnest Whitaker; son, Linus Boulrece Ruby of Kalamazoo; two daughters, Rachel Faye Boulrece of Plaquemine, LA, Susan Dantzler Perry of Missouri; step-daughter, Janet Gill of Kalamazoo; sister, Lillian Holmes of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law, Susan Ezell Hill of Los Angelos, CA; and cousins, Thomas and Elvin Malone; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. The family hour will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2009, with Funeral Service at 12:00 PM Saturday at the Christian Life Center 1225 W. Patterson with Pastor Lenzey E. Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street.
