WIELHOUWER, Mrs. Virginia G.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Went home to be with her Lord Friday evening June 26, 2009. Virginia was born April 28, 1918 in Grand Rapids, Michigan a daughter of Isaac and Minnie Bergmans Hollemans. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1949 was employed with the Portage Public Schools before retiring. Virginia was also a member of the First Reformed Church of Portage. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John D. Wielhouwer on February 21, 1982; and 2 brothers, Marvin and I. Franklin Hollemans. She is survived by 3 children, Ginnie John Carter of Grosse Pointe, MI, John Linda Wielhouwer of White Lake, MI, and Lexi Jerry Doorlag of Schoolcraft; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Nell Cooley, Bernice James Ippel, and Jean Ann Roy Gritter; 3 brothers, Robert June Hollemans, John Pat Hollemans, and David Lois Hollemans; 2 sisters-in-law, Pauline Clyde Afman and Marie Chuck Soentgen; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Tuesday at the First Reformed Church of Portage, 7905 S. Westnedge Ave. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Interment will be in Portage South Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Park Village Pines.
