HOOVER, Virginia M. "Ginny" Pinkham
of Kalamazoo Virginia passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010. She was born October 4, 1923 in Augusta, ME, one of six children born to Harry and Gertrude Pierce Pinkham. Virginia married Keith Hoover in Grand Rapids on August 4, 1945 and settled in the Kalamazoo area in 1966. Following Keith's retirement, they traveled in their motorhome for 12 years, then settling in Sequim, WA and returning to Kalamazoo in 2004. Virginia was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was known for her great sense of humor and her positive outlook on life. Virginia enjoyed traveling and gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her large family. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, on February 22, 2008. She was also preceded by her parents; 3 brothers, Harry Pinkham, Jr., Keith Pinkham and Frank Pinkham; a sister, Priscilla Branson; and a son-in-law, Stephen Francis. She is survived by her children, David Diane Hoover of Elko, NV, Jon Debra Hoover of Sequim, WA, Sharon Francis of Portage, Cynthia Robert Luyendyk of Plainwell, Vicki Randy Hawkinson of Anacortes, WA, Cameron Hoover of Santa Clara, CA and Alison Owen Bourassa of Bloomfield, MI; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou Pilsbury of Augusta, ME; many nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 23, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Rev. Barry Petrucci officiating.
