BRIGHAM, Virginia M.
Of Kalamazoo, MI Virginia passed away Tuesday evening, September 1, 2009. She was born June 29, 1918 in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Delos and Matilda Oliver Sutton. On November 4, 1943, Virginia was united in marriage to Earnest Brigham, who preceded her in death in 2004. She served as a member of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II. Virginia was employed by Child Guidance Clinic and later A.M. Todd Co. for over 12 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Virginia also volunteered for over 20 years at Borgess Medical Center for the Red Cross. Surviving are her 2 children, Douglas Linda Brigham of Kalamazoo and Ginny Harold Goodacre of Gobles; 2 grandsons, Aaron Mary Ann Brigham of Kalamazoo and Patrick Salisbury of Kalamazoo; 2 step-grandchildren, Aimee Sam Kline of Kalamazoo, and Ryan Goodacre of Kalamazoo; 11 great-grandchildren, Veronica, Kevin, Ryder, Kari, Cassie, and Erika Brigham, Kali, Kieyra, and Alek Salisbury, and Kenryn, and Canden Kline; brother, George Sutton; sister, Mary Waggle; special friend, Char Moore; and several nieces. Memorial services for Virginia will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 212 Park Street, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Vernon officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM on Friday tomorrow at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
