SHEPHARD, Mrs. Violet J.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning February 9, 2013. Violet was born June 14, 1923 in Clay County, Arkansas a daughter of Frank and Fern Choate Parks. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was a member of Milwood United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard H. Shephard on March 6, 2012; 2 brothers, Rufus and George Parks; and 2 sisters, Reva Irene Horn and Francis Helena Brazell. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Richard Servis of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday at the Milwood United Methodist Church, 3919 Portage Rd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Milwood United Methodist Church Music Department or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
