Formerly of Kalamazoo, MI Violet died Friday, September 10, 2010, at her home in Phoenix, AZ. She was born April 30, 1932, in Tampa, FL a daughter of Chester and Ethyl Johnson DeWitt. Violet retired from James River where she had worked for 41 years. She was a member of the former Westwood Baptist Church. Violet moved to Phoenix in 1992. On March 5, 1960, Violet was united in marriage with Robert T. Bradley who preceded her in death on May 21, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roy and Albert DeWitt; and two sisters, Eunice Ross and Pearl Page. Surviving are: a son, Mark N. Bradley of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, April Legate of Aiken, SC and her son, Zack; a special granddaughter, Amber Wayne McNamara of Flint, MI and their son Evan; a brother, Elmer Mary DeWitt of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, with Pastor James Dyke, officiating. Violet's family will receive guests one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park will follow services.
