Violet Eunice Birmingham

Violet went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the age of 83. She was born September 6, 1931 in Lawrence County, AR to the late Clarence and Dora McGee Smith. Violet was united in marriage to James Birmingham who preceded her in death in June of 1994. Violet enjoyed many hobbies. She loved going for walks, playing cards, garage sales, crafts, stock car racing, animals and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She regularly attended Widow and Widowers where she met many friends. She also attended church. Her greatest passion was her love for family and friends. Violet is survived by her boyfriend, Neal Selbee; son, James Gary Marie Birmingham; 3 grandchildren, Eunice Brian Shive, Jim Amber Birmingham and Stephen Blink; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Albert Brenda Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Violet in death was her daughter, Violet Mae Blett; siblings, John Smith, EJ Smith, JW Holloway, Ray Smith and Warren Smith. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 1-2pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Hwy, where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 o'clock. Jim Birmingham will officiate. Interment will be in Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery, Walnut Ridge, AR. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to help with funeral expenses.
