HOPKINS, Victor L.
Kalamazoo Victor passed away unexpectedly, Saturday afternoon, November 3, 2007. He was born December 26, 1941 in Richland, one of ten children to the late Russell and Eva Piper Hopkins. Victor was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by The Upjohn Co. until his retirment in 1991. Victor was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved sports and coached baseball for a few years for his son?s teams. Surviving are his son, Dan Hopkins of Battle Creek; 1 grandson, Jacob Hopkins; former wife of 33 years Joyce Tolmacs Hopkins of Kalamazoo; 3 sisters, Jeannette Wayne Allen of Oregon, Martha Gary Allen of Galesburg, and Dorothy Don Phillips of Galesburg; 2 brothers, George Carole Hopkins of Florida and Gerald Cheryl Hopkins of Tennessee; 3 sisters-in-law, Jan, Jane, and Anne Hopkins; and 1 brother-in-law, Bud Pierce. Preceding him in death are his parents; 3 brothers, Russell, Everett and Terry Hopkins; and 1 sister, Donna Pierce. Funeral services for Victor will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM on Wednesday in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contribuions may be directed to Great Lakes Burn Camp.
