Verna I. Sibert

SIBERT, Verna I.
Of Portage Verna passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at her home. She was born November 2, 1933 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Henry and Harriett Loew Kamps. On December 1, 1950, Verna was united in marriage to Harry I. Sibert in Corydon, IN. She was employed by Harding H&B Market at West Lake for over 35 years, until her retirement in 2007. Surviving are her three sons, Harry Dee Sibert of Three Rivers, Terry Jill Sibert of Three Rivers, and Jerry Sharri Sibert of Schoolcraft; five grandchildren, T.J. Joanna, Dan Gina, Jesse Elizabeth, Ryan, and Emily; five great-grandchildren, Kimmie, Brandon, Mary, Robert, and Mika; four sisters, Gladys Edgerton of Allegan, Belva "Bobbie" Frank McKinney of Three Rivers, Jean Mack of Schoolcraft, Margaret "Pete" Nelson of Parchment; one brother, Hiram "Cap" Judy Kamps of Kalamazoo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; and three sisters, Joyce Mastenbrook, Dorothy Tice, and infant sister, Myma Jean Kamps. Funeral services for Verna will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to SPCA of Southwest Michigan.
