Veloise G. ''Mickey'' O'Rourke

O?ROURKE, Veloise G. ?Mickey? Galesburg Died October 25, 2006 at Borgess Hospital. Mickey was born February 3, 1937 in Comstock, MI, the daughter of Harry and Helen Shellman and was a lifelong resident of the Galesburg area. She was an excellent seamstress. She began designing and creating custom draperies and for over 30 years was the owner and operator of ?Mickey?s Work Room?. She also enjoyed writing and loved to cook. Her husband Richard preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded by 2 sisters, Vivian Pollard in 2006 and Virginia Bowers and a brother Vernon Bud Shellman. Surviving are 3 children, Kelly O?Rourke of Galesburg, Scott O?Rourke of Climax and Gayle George Meskil of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister Vonne Bob Littell of Florida; a brother Vernell ?Roger? Shellman and wife Shirley of Florida; a brother-in-law Ed Pollard of Comstock and a sister-in-law Catherine Shellman of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o?clock on Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway with Chaplain Debi Lewis officiating. Private interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Mattawan. Friends may meet the family this evening from 6-8 pm at the Comstock Chapel. Memorial contributions in Mickey?s memory may be made to the American Lung Association.
