Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Friday evening December 19, 2008. Trena was born July 3, 1918 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Jans and Susie Smit Mejeur. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life before retiring to Bradenton, FL. She was employed with the Upjohn Company for 28 years before retiring years ago. She was also a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred C. Werner on November 30, 1996; a son, John Werner in 1996; and 6 brothers and sisters and their spouses, Jerry Dena Mejeur, Jennie Toby Noteboom, Maggie Mejeur, Jeanette Floyd Diephuis, Bill Connie Smit, and Uko Rena Mejeur; and 3 brothers-in-law, Lewis VanDenBerge, Frank Michaels, and Peter Bob VanHout. She is survived by James Cheryl Werner of Kalamazoo, Martha Richard Kouder of Edwardburg, and Charles Joyce Werner of Jenks, OK; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Jennie VanDenBerge of Grand Rapids, Sue Micheals of Kalamazoo, and Alberta VanHout of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 3 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 2-3pm Monday at the chapel.
