ONDERLINDE, Trena
Of Kalamazoo Went to be with her Lord, Friday, September 16, 2011, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Trena was born August 20, 1925 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Jacob and Elsie Schipper Mejeur. Trena was employed with the Upjohn Company and retired from the Kalamazoo Public Schools. She was a lifelong member of the Grace Christian Reformed Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and Calvinette counselor. On June 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Matthew Onderlinde, who preceded her in death on September 27, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Bruce Onderlinde; sister and brother-in-law, Rena and Albert Rhem; brother, John Mejeur; in-laws, Marinus and Margaret Onderlinde, Jack Broekema, Fred and Gertrude Broekema Post, Jacob and Cornelia DeDoes, William and Eulalia Onderlinde, Frank and Ann Onderlinde, Edward and Annabelle Onderlinde, Cornelius Onderlinde, Len and Janet Klok. Surviving are her children, Sharon David Weessies, Larry Amy Onderlinde, Scott Jan Onderlinde, and Mark Onderlinde, all of Kalamazoo; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Lisa Onderlinde of Miami, FL, Chris and Mark Onderlinde, and Jonathan and Lauren Weessies, all of Kalamazoo and Beth Mathew Pugh of Texas; one great-grandchild, Kascie; brothers, Uko Jo Mejeur, Wubbo Alene Mejeur, Jerry Betty Mejeur, Henry Frances Mejeur, Ebo Loralee Mejeur; a sister, Margaret John VanderPloeg; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mejeur; in-laws, John and Gail Onderlinde; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held 11:00 Monday morning tomorrow at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Rd, with Rev. Greg Timmer officiating. Friends may meet the family Sunday today from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Private interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery will follow services. Memorials may be directed to Grace Christian Reformed Church, Kalamazoo Christian School Association or Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
