Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 22, 2008. Trena was born February 15, 1916 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Milo and Pearl Kuik Stapert and had been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. When Trena was married to Richard Middlebush, her whole life was devoted to the farm that they owned. Her house was always open to family and friends, especially the thrashers at harvest time. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and doll crafting. She was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church and a former member of North Park Reformed Church. Trena was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Richard Middlebush in 1986; her second husband Charles Walters; 4 brothers, Jake, Raymond Ray, Chuck and Elko Ko; and a sister, Winifred Winnie Smith. She is survived by a brother, Dirk Stapert; and a sister, Ann Stuurwold; nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, March 31, at 1:00 PM in the KIVA of Friendship Village, 1400 North Drake Rd., with Pastor Tom Koning officiating. There will be no visitation. Private burial has taken place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, North. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Kalamazoo Christian School Association or Second Christian Reformed Church. Arrangements were made by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
