FORSMAN, Tonda A. Grand Junction, MI On Thursday, November 15, 2012, Tonda was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born October 20, 1936 in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of the late Gerald and Lola Cushman Roberts. She was employed as a medical technologist for over forty years. After graduating from Western Theological Seminary in Holland with a Master of Divinity degree, she started a second career in pastoral care where she worked with various churches and hospitals. Dozens of teens and young adults were unofficially fostered by Tonda. She and her husband also opened their home on a regular basis to many other youth. Together they had a large impact on many lives, each serving with their unique gifts.
On September 1, 1956, Tonda married Richard Forsman, who survives. She is also survived by their children, Dr. Kenneth Tamara Forsman, Diane Ross Hunter, David Forsman and Daniel Megan Forsman; their grandchildren, Matthew Lindsay Hunter, Benjamin Amy Forsman, Laura Landon Kavlie, Garret Rachael Forsman, Nathan Christine Hunter, Arianna Forsman and Liljani Forsman; great-grandchildren, Alexis Hunter and Noah Forsman; a sister, Sue Don Blaisdell; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday tomorrow at 1:00 PM in the Westwood Church of God, 811 Gorham Ln., Kalamazoo, with Pastor William Ferguson and Rev. Dr. William Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery, South. A visitation will take place on Sunday today from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Westwood Church of God, Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan, or to the charity of your choice.
