Timothy Paul Mejeur

Timothy Paul Mejeur was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, November 6, 2015 and now resides in his heavenly home. Tim was born to John and Dorothy (Koning) Mejeur on April 5, 1963 in Kalamazoo. Following graduation from Kalamazoo Christian High School, he obtained a technical certificate from National Institute of Technology, and later received an Associate of Applied Science degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Tim was a loyal employee of Xerox Corporation for almost 30 years, starting as a service technician, later a technical analyst, and most recently a project manager. Tim was a loving and faithful husband to his high school sweetheart, Brenda (Vlietstra) Mejeur, celebrating 34 wonderful years of marriage on November 6th. Together they opened their home, showing the love of God, to 24 foster children and many international students. Over the years, Tim served as youth leader, deacon, and elder at Centerpoint Church. He was a caring and committed father to their children Emily (Adam) Brown, Ryan (Dinorah) Mejeur, Jonathan, Laura, Jozlynn, and Briona. Tim was recently blessed with two precious grandchildren, Clara Kay and William Timothy. He loved spending time with his family, going on mission trips, camping throughout Michigan, exploring numerous National Parks, getaways to Florida, distance running and sight-seeing in Europe. Tim was a Boy Scout Leader, going on many hiking adventures with his sons. He was a good listener, hard worker, an amazing handyman, excellent coach for sports teams, and passionately shared the love of God to everyone around him. Tim would often say, "We're not here to serve ourselves, we're here to serve others and glorify God!" Tim was preceded in death by his father, John Mejeur. He is survived by his mother Dorothy Mejeur; wife Brenda; 6 children; 2 grandchildren; siblings, Steve (Flori) Mejeur, Tom (Rose) Mejeur, Mary (Mike) Zylema; mother-in-law, Lorraine Vlietstra; father-in-law, Glenn (Nel) Vlietstra; as well as brother-in-law Bruce (Julie) Vlietstra, sisters-in-law Jodi (Scott) Graham, Jenifer Vlietstra, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday, November 13, at Centerpoint Church, 2345 N. 10th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A private burial will precede the celebration service. Please join the family to celebrate Tim's life on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:30am, also at Centerpoint Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Followers for Change and Alternatives of Kalamazoo.
