Thomas V. Vander Weele

VANDER WEELE, Mr. Thomas V. Comstock, MI Died Thursday morning February 15, 2007 at his residence. Thomas was born February 27, 1923 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Peter and Genevieve DeRyder VanderWeele. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Navy. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and owned and operated Quality Greenhouse with his wife for 50 years before retiring in 1989. He also attended the Kalamazoo Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Martha and Katherine. On October 15, 1947, he was united in marriage to Grace A. VanDenBurg VanderWeele who survives. Also surviving, 5 children, Thomas Julie VanderWeele, Jr. of Comstock, Wendy Gary Britten and Richard VanderWeele all of Kalamazoo, Larry Sheryl VanderWeele of Comstock, and Jerry Brenda VanderWeele of Augusta; 9 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Ann James Freer of Pittsburgh, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 1 o?clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Saturday. Private interment will be in Mt.
