Died Sunday afternoon January 24, 2016. Thomas was born January 13, 1940 in Bayfield, Wisconsin a son of Merwin and Helen (Thorsen) Wachsmuth. Years ago, he served with the U.S. Navy. He was a graduated of Geneva High School, 1958, Geneva, Ohio; Ferris State College, 1976, Big Rapids, MI, Bachelor of Science in Business Education, Professionally Conferred as Certified Internal Auditor, CIA, 2004. Thomas had been a Kalamazoo area resident for over 30 years and was employed with the United States Defense Department for 28 years, retiring in 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janet Ellis in 2015. On October 19, 1994, he was united in marriage to Nancy A. (Amsler) Wachsmuth who survives. Also surviving, a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Pocatko of North Kingsville, OH; a brother, John (Janet) Wachsmuth of Bastrop, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
