ROY, Thomas M.
Of Portage Died June 28, 2013 at age 37. Tom was born March 29, 1976 in Kalamazoo to Thomas N. and Barbara L. Hoffman Roy. Tom was a 1994 graduate of Portage Northern High School. He was a cherished son, brother and dedicated single dad to his son Michael. An aspiring chef whose life was cut short. Tom was a proud Eagle Scout helping to guide his son on his path to Eagle. He was deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his family and friends. Tom is survived by his 13 year old son, Michael Roy; parents, Thomas and Barbara Roy; sister, Melissa Rob Treff; niece, Sara Treff; nephews, John and Adam Treff; and Buddy, his cat. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Nelson and Ruth Hoffman, Thomas and Virginia Roy; step grandmother, Mary Roy; and niece, Catherine Virginia Treff. Memorial service will be held Sunday July 7, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Second Reformed Church, 2323 Stadium Dr., Kalamazoo. Family will greet friends for the hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, at a later date.
