LAWSON, Mr. Thomas G.
Portage, MI Went home to be with the Lord Wednesday evening July 08, 2009. He passed away peacefully at home with family at his side. Thomas was born November 19, 1932 in Cook County, IL a son of Dorothy and Cecil Lawson. He loved travel, fishing and golfing. He was an active member of Portage Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He worked at KRPH for 23 yrs before retiring in 1982. He was on the Portage Zoning Board of Appeals from 1972 to 1984, was President of Water Wonderland Winnebago and an active member in the Winnebago Club for 35 yrs. He was also President of SERA in 2007 and 2008.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Cecil; and a sister, Shirley Moore Lawson. He leaves behind his wife of 58 yrs., Mary Jane Lawson Buell; 2 sons, Ivan and Phillip both of Kalamazoo; a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha David Bosma of Oberlin, OH; a brother, William Gracia Lawson; 5 grandchildren, Mathew, Jennifer, Brian all of Kalamazoo, Alicia and Brittany Bosma of Oberlin, OH; a great-grandson, Evan of Kalamazoo, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Monday at the Portage Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 7028 Oakland Dr. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Interment will be in Central Portage Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Pretty Lake Burn Children's Camp. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
