RICHARDS, Thomas L., I South Haven Formerly of Kalamazoo Mr. Richards passed away Saturday afternoon, March 17, 2007 at his home with his family by his side. He was born September 8, 1941 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Russell and Ethel Clippenger Richards. Tom graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1960. After school, he enlisted into the United States Navy, and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by Consumers Energy for 35 years until his retirement in 2003. On August 18, 1967, Tom was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Frakes in Kalamazoo, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Carrie Donald Behringer of Portage, Tammy Eric Hill of Paw Paw, and Thomas L. Richards II; four grandchildren, Ross and Jade Behringer, and Taylor and Samantha Hill; two brothers, Robert and Virgil Richards both of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents and one brother, Jack Richards. Funeral services for Mr. Richards will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
