Thomas William Henry
Of Schoolcraft Passed away suddenly on January 19, 2010 at his winter home in Aruba with Karen his wife of 26 years, at his side. Tom was born October 16, 1948 in Kalamazoo to William & Patricia Henry. He grew up in Oakwood and graduated from Loy Norrix High School. A long time resident of Schoolcraft, he owned and operated Production Tooling, a business he started and built into a success. His achievements gave Tom and Karen the opportunity to travel, but his favorite was always the "One Happy Island", Aruba. There they found the serenity, peace and friendliness that they so enjoyed. They built their dream house and visited several times a year. Tom was an avid collector of 45 records and had amassed a collection in the thousands. He also had a passion for Corvettes which he enjoyed restoring. Bowling was replaced by his golf addiction, which he eased at Olde Mill. His love of nature, music and his family will never be forgotten. Those unfortunate to lose him are his parents Pat and Bill of Kalamazoo, his loving wife Karen, 2 daughters, Michelle Nuyen of Mattawan and Nicole Michael Galiger of Chapel Hill, NC. And a Stepson Jim Brooke Morrison of Hastings; 8 grandchildren Brandon & Courtney Nuyen, Jacob, Justin & Ethan Galiger, Jordan, Kirsten and Raegan Morrison will all miss their Grumpy Grandpa; His sister Janet Pete Keinath of Riverview, Florida will keep him close in her heart with the memories of his smile and gentle hands; a nephew Alan Reitler of Naples, FL. He had a special grandson Roderick in Aruba. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Jack Nuyen and 2 infant siblings, Janice & Michael. Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Pastor Suzanne Kornowski of the Oshtemo United Methodist Church officiating.
