GARRISON, Thomas L.
Kalamazoo Passed away Thursday morning, September 1, 2011 at his residence. Tom was born June 8, 1941 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Ray and Dorothy Butcher Garrison. Tom was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. He was a veteran serving 21 years in the military, which included the Army, Air Force, and National Guard, retiring in 1992. His duties in the military included being a firefighter and working in communications. Tom also spent several years working with plastics at Ronnigens and at Louisiana Pacific in Newberry, MI. He was a member of the Eagles, the VFW, and enjoyed watching WWE on TV and attending wrestling events in person. On June 14, 1974 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Sharon Kleeman, who survives. Also surviving are his children: Dorothy Dunbar, Jodi Dean Proudfoot, Lori Wallace, Raymond R. Ingrid Garrison, Ronald J. Webb; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sharon Silva, Sally Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Webb. Services will be held at 1:00 Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 12-1:00 prior to the service. Visit
