Portage, Michigan Thomas died Tuesday, August 3, 2010, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born March 12, 1940 in Kalamazoo, MI, a son of John M. and Doris M. Garlock Crockett and had been a life long area resident. Thomas served in the US Army from January of 1962 to January of 1964. He was employed for many years at Portage Upholstery. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael Katsacos. On June 15, 1973 Thomas was united in marriage with the former Virginia Rzeszutko, who survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Trish David Jessie of Virginia; five grandchildren, Jason, Malinda and Jessica Hackett, Heather Bryan and Melissa Dean; 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Joanie Crockett of Colorado and Richard Crockett; two sisters, Constance John Houts of Kalamazoo and Judith Jim Minor of Three Rivers; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday, August 7th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Private inurnment in Ft. Custer National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorials should be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
