Thom Carrington

November 5, 1938 — July 23, 2020

Thom (Warren Thomas) Carrington passed away 7/23/2020 after a brief illness.  Thom was born 11/5/1938 to Warren and Evabelle Carrington.  He lived his whole life in Kalamazoo graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1956 and he also attended WMU. Thom retired from Georgia Pacific (James River) after several years.  He enjoyed attending all sporting events at WMU but hockey was his favorite being a long time season ticket holder & blue line club member.  You would almost always see him with a book in his hand he also was a big crossword and jigsaw puzzle fan.  Thom liked playing cards with family and friends and also going to the casino and the many trips up north to “Uncle Bruce’s Cabin”. Thom was proceeded in death by his parents and wife Ginny (Virginia), surviving are his daughter Deborah (Barry) Price, step children Dana (Joe) Taylor and Kevin (Kammy) Faux his sister Janet (John) Elders and his God Son Joshua Carrington Elders and his beloved cat Marcie many other family members & friends.  Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Thom’s life will take place Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:00am at Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49006.  In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions to Western Michigan University Athletic Foundation Hockey Program, Westwood United Methodist Church or the hospice of your choice.
