Theodore Mack Nichols

Theodore “Ted” Mack Nichols of Galesburg, Michigan, passed away on August 10, 2024, at the age of 52. Ted was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on October 23, 1971, to Roger and Daythel “Anne” (Lewis) Nichols. In 2004, Ted married Jaime Ward. The two were married for nearly 10 years and had two beautiful daughters, Kayla and Suzanne, before Jaime’s passing in 2014.

Ted grew up in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School in 1990. He later moved to Augusta, where he and Jaime set up their family home, and remained a member of the Galesburg-Augusta community for the rest of his life.

He was proud of his work in the automotive industry, but he received his greatest enjoyment from spending time with his family and friends, and building Legos. He loved meeting friends at the local bar, getting together to play board games and cards, cooking out, celebrating the Fourth of July, and going on trips with friends and family. As his daughters got older and began participating in sports, he became a fervent supporter, attending their games whenever possible.

Ted is survived by his children, Kayla and Suzanne Nichols; mother, Daythel; siblings, Christine (Jeff) Grant and Anne (John) Cashwell; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ted was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jaime; his father, Roger; and his grandparents.

A memorial will be held Friday, August 16th, from 1:00-4:00 pm, at the Augusta VFW, located at 13540 M96, Augusta, MI. A time for family and friends to speak will start at 2:00 pm.

Ted’s cremated remains will be laid to rest beside his wife’s at the Augusta Village Cemetery at a future date.
