Theodore Gerhard Luebke of Decatur, Michigan, died on July 27, 2024, at the age of 72 due to health complications following a fall. Ted was born in Rocky River, Ohio, on November 11, 1951, to the late Reverend Gerhard William and Georgia Wilma (Frundt) Luebke.

Ted’s family moved to Alpena, Michigan, in 1957, where Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing baseball. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School, Alpena High School, and Olivet College (University), where he received a bachelor's degree in English in 1973. After college, Ted moved to Holland, Michigan, and worked in various manufacturing positions before starting in quality control at Engineered Plastic Components in the early 1990s. He worked for Western Diversified Plastics in Mattawan since 2011 and retired in 2021 as a senior quality engineer.

Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with friends. He was an avid shopper and generous gift giver. He took pleasure in preparing and cooking local produce and growing vegetables in his container gardens. He showered love and attention on his cats and a year-old puppy.

Ted is survived by his siblings, Stephen (Linda) Luebke and Miriam (Ernie d’Anjou) Luebke; brother-in-law, Kirk Bolt; and five nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Louise Bolt.
