JACKSON, Theodore A. "Ted"
Vicksburg, Michigan After a long illness, Ted went to be with the Lord Sunday evening, April 27, 2008. He was born March 11, 1931, in Kalamazoo, MI, a son of Frederick and Marvel Jackson and had been a life long area resident. Ted served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952 and he retired from Eckrich in 1972. He enjoyed reading and was a master craftsman. Ted's greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Julie Taylor, and a sister, Eileen Dalrymple. Ted is survived by his wife of 25 years, the former Marcia Skelton. Also surviving are: six children, Joe Shirley Jackson of Kalamazoo, Jerry Christina Jackson of Delton, Denise Michael Becker of Mendon, Kirk Liggett of Alabama, Lisa Brunden of Alabama, and Annette Brian Kelley of Vicksburg; 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, a sister, Betty Littell of Gobles; and several nieces and nephews. A service lead by members of his family will be held 10:30 Thursday morning at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage, Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Burial in Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors will follow services. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the funeral home.
